Whenever you’re on the web you may notice small images displayed in the address bar of yourbrowser. They appear directly before the URL of certain websites. These images are known as “favicons” because they are “icons” associated with websites which show up in your browser’s “Favourites” list (in Internet Explorer) or your “Bookmarks” list (in Firefox). In newer browser versions they also display at the top of tabbed panels.

I have tried to upload .ico format using photobucket but failed to do so(may be photobucket doesn’t support .ico format). If you want to upload .ico format, probably I will recommend you to use Google Pages and Yahoo Geocities to upload .ico files.
Personally I have used GooglePages to upload .ico file since you can use your Google Account to login blogspot. I will take give some instruction about how to add it under your Blogger Template
- After you have uploaded to googlepages such as http://yourname.googlepages.com/icon.ico (yourname = your gmail account, icon.ico = icon name)
- Go to Template tab, select “Edit HTML“
- You’ll see a syntax like this:
