Microsoft: IE 6 Usage Drops Below 1 Percent in US

And heck, it only took ten years.

Microsoft announced today that usage of the dated and insecure Internet Explorer 6 web browser has dipped below 1 percent in the United States, joining Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway in finally ignoring this out of date technology. Microsoft now dubs this group "the Champion's Circle," which is cute. But I bet there's a lot of Firefox and Chrome usage in those places too.
Anyhoo, Microsoft provided a couple of fun photos to celebrate the event, which was marked with a Hacker News Seattle Meet-up as well.
